President’s Message:
Hope you all had a fabulous Fourth with family and friends. I celebrated Independence Day at Quilt & Chat & More with a great group of ladies. I wonder if Betsy Ross quilted?

"Let's Learn to Machine Quilt" is a 5th Wednesday Comfort Zone Workshop on July 30th from 9 - 3 at the Pool Pavilion, with Pot Luck Lunch and lots of Prizes. Bring your sewing machine with a walking foot and an assortment of thread colors (off white, beige, or grey usually work very well on most items). We will be learning the tricks of "stitching in the ditch" as well as marking quilts for straight line quilting that is not in the ditch. Also lots of useful information that will help you with your home machine quilting. We will provide the sandwiched quilts all ready for your quilting. Come and join us for a fun day of quilting even if you are already good at machine quilting (maybe we could use some of your great tips)
We also have our regular 4th Wednesday Comfort Zone Workshop on July 23rd from 9 - 3 at the Pool Pavilion.

Thank you
very much for Marie and Anonymous’ donations to the PMSQG Library. We always welcome good quilting books for our
members to share. So please come on in
and check them out.
MJ Glaseman has a tip from the file of bad experiences: If you are making something in a specific size, say a table runner to fit the length of the table, make sure all the fabric has been pre-washed. If not it may shrink after you wash it to an unwanted size.
Here's another free tip for those who have spare floor tiles lying around.
Template |
Floor tiles make the best templates. Press paper pattern onto the adhesive side of a self-stick floor tile. Cut the template out on the line with a scissors or utility knife. These templates are sturdy and can be used with a rotary cutter.
